Michael is a native of Malaysia who moved to San Antonio, Texas in 2001 to pursue his college education and American Dream. Upon graduating with degrees in Psychology and Fashion Merchandising, Michael headed east to New York City in 2008 to begin a career in fashion as a merchandiser and design developer, where he was exposed to the dynamic energy of the beauty industry. He officially transitioned into a full-time make up career in 2011 where he honed his skills under many of the industry’s top luminaries, including but not limited to Vincent Longo, Fulvia Farolfi, Aaron De Mey, Mathias Von Hooff, Isamaya Ffrench, Nick Barose, Kabuki and Pep Gay.
Michael’s impeccable eye for beauty is informed by his love for all things art and design, shaped by his travels across five of the seven continents by his teens. His mission is to always see the mundane with fresh eyes and to communicate the complex and diverse nature of beauty in new and unexpected ways.
